About our Products
Why is handcrafted soap better that store bought soap? One of the main benefits of cold process soap making is having complete control over the ingredients. It has no added detergents, which strip the skin of its natural oils. Additional ingredients may be added to increase the skin loving benefits. They are also better for the environment.
Depending on the ingredients you use, cold process soap making typically yields a long-lasting bar of soap. Our bars are sulfate, phthalate free, parabens free and for the most part vegan friendly.
Our luxurious, natural soaps are handcrafted using the highest quality ingredients available. Formulated with skin-loving oils such as organic coconut, organic extra virgin olive and organic shea butter. They help create a very smooth, velvety lather that leaves your skin clean with no leftover residue.
What is Cold Process Soap? Cold process soap making is the act of mixing fats (oils and butters) with an alkali (sodium hydroxide, commonly known as lye). The result is a chemical process called saponification, where the composition of the oils change with the help of the lye to create a bar of soap.
What does it mean when a "soap needs to cure"? Cold process requires an awesome 4-6 weeks curing time to complete the entire process. Cold Process Soap is made with water, in order for the bars to last longer and become a harder bar, it needs to evaporate all the water used (called curing). In order for us to provide you with a high quality bar, all of our products are completely cure before being put up in our website.
Will my soaps always look the exactly the same each time? We try our hardest to duplicate batches - it is not always possible so please allow for slight variations, small bubbles and tiny imperfections. This is what hand crafted is all about, each product is a unique piece of art.
How do I make my soaps last longer? Make sure you store your soap in a dry place between uses. Also, use a soap dish that drains water.
Do you do special orders? We do! Whether is for your business or events (party favors, wedding favors, business special edition soaps etc.). Please note that cold process soap needs 4-6 weeks of curing time, and these orders have to placed at a minimum of 8-10 weeks in advance.
